ELITECAD Connectivity

Perfectly connected with the planning world

The area of applications of our software in industry and mechanics are large, and therefore the amount of connected processes is also extensive. ELITECAD supports a large number of interfaces and integrations for seamless data exchange and optimal processing of models.

The connectivity with other stakeholders and systems is extended with every version in order to promote the open exchange of ideas, concepts and the corresponding data efficiently. The more detail is transported, the more efficient the collaboration, and the more successful the entire project will be.

Finishing models with only a few clicks

Finishing models with additional library parts is an essential step in the construction process. For this reason, ELITECAD features a series of direct integrations to 3D platforms in addition to the integrated ELITECAD library and the additional module for DIN standard parts.

A special menu as well as a toolbar in ELITECAD provide easy access to platforms like 3DWarehouse, Sketchfab, DoschDesign and most and foremost ELITECAD PARTS by CADENAS. With only a few clicks your model is equipped with static library parts as well as millions of configurable 2D and 3D data. This saves time and enhances the entire construction with more details.

Digital surveying

Every construction or plant is located at a certain place, which might be a specific terrain or an existing construction. It influences the surroundings, and vice versa. Therefore, the import of data representing the real world is an important basis for the depiction and the modelling of terrain and constructions. ELITECAD Mechanics provides flexible and efficient possibilities to handle real-world data like point clouds of existing construction or geometer data using the ELITECAD Terrain module.

BIM in industry and mechanics

The workflows of Building Information Modelling (BIM) have become essential in architectural design in the past years. Also, for industry and mechanics this topic is getting more and more relevant nowadays, since a major part of building project is done by other trades and industries like steel construction, installation, engineering, etc. In order for these industries and planning partners to be able to work effectively together, the connection to the BIM process is essential.

This workflow differs from the standard way that architects and planners work in. Industry and mechanics think in a structured way using assemblies, individual parts and bill of materials. Here ELITECAD Mechanics fills a gap, because drawings that were created with ELITECAD Mechanics can be read in ELITECAD Architecture without losing information.

Of course, the data exchange with other systems, as promoted by the openBIM vision, is supported as well. ELITECAD provides import and export interfaces for the vendor independent IFC file format. This ensures the ideal collaboration in the BIM project, which also includes other trades, so the BIM process is lifted to the next level in ELITECAD Mechanics.

Interfaces for efficient collaboration

In times of advancing digitalisation and globalisation the connectivity is a major key to success in modern planning and construction. Therefore, ELITECAD provides a large number of import and export interfaces.
  • DXF/DWG
The DXF/DWG import/export interface of ELITECAD enables highly flexible and configurable exchange of 2D and 3D data with countless products.
  • Sketchup
The SketchUp import/export-interface allows access to countless library parts. Just download the desired models from the web, for instance 3DWarehouse.
  • (3D) PDF
ELITECAD supports PDF generation with paper size recognition. In addition it is possible to create 3D PDF files, which allows you to share the model with people who don't have access to a CAD application.
  • Lumion
Create perfect images and animations from a digital building model. Importing from ELITECAD is as simple as it gets. One click and the Lumion model synchronises with ELITECAD.
  • IFC / BIM - Building Information Modeling
ELITECAD Mechanics provides import and export interfaces for parametric building models via IFC 4 and IFC 2x3. This allows for ideal collaboration with planners within the BIM process.
  • 3DS
Exporting and importing 3DS files allows the usage of 3D geometry and models from 3DS Max and all other systems that can read or write this format.
