Update R4 brings AI assistant Luna, custom textures and more to ELITECAD Architecture 17
With the new R4 update, ELITECAD Architecture 17 introduces a much-anticipated new feature: the AI assistant Luna. It supports you directly within the project, explains functions, answers questions and helps you with selections and operations in the model. Thanks to its native integration into the CAD system, it acts as a smart sidekick in your daily work without the hassle of switching back and forth between windows.
Yet that is not all. In addition, the R4 update includes numerous optimisations to existing functions, including enhancements to the IFC4 export, performance improvements in reports and in team mode, as well as new options for customising materials with mytextur, a new feature of the mtextur texture platform.
And the best part? The R4 update is once again completely free for everyone using ELITECAD Architecture 17! You can download the new update via the ‘Internet Update’ tab at the top of the welcome screen after launching ELITECAD Architecture 17.

Say hello to Luna, the AI assistant built right into ELITECAD
We are integrating artificial intelligence (AI) directly into ELITECAD Architecture with Luna. The new AI assistant is now available to support you right where you’re working.
You can ask Luna questions about features and workflows, let it solve problems, or have it explain step-by-step how to carry out specific tasks. This allows you to stay focused on the model, rather than switching between your browser, help pages and project files. But Luna doesn’t just explain. If you wish, the AI can also assist with the project, for example by switching views, creating PDFs and reports, checking plans, generating visualisations, or selecting and editing objects.
You can ask Luna questions about features and workflows, let it solve problems, or have it explain step-by-step how to carry out specific tasks. R4 opens up new possibilities with mytextur & mtextur
The previous update already integrated the mtextur material platform into ELITECAD with the new texture import manager. The latest update, R4, now extends this integration to include mytextur. This allows users to flexibly create custom CAD textures and visualise realistic materials and combinations of their own design.
Greater precision in controlling material patterns
With the Pattern Manager, the distribution of materials within a grid becomes visible and can be precisely controlled. This provides significantly more control and better results, particularly with complex CAD textures. In addition, mtextur’s existing pattern system has been expanded to include new geometries, variants and combinations and a new “Style” section has been added to enable more free-form, creative patterns. These are particularly suitable for conceptual designs and design studies.

For example, rib and trapezoidal profiles can be defined parametrically, perforations such as round, square or slotted holes can be integrated, lighting and engraving effects can be simulated, and even transparent materials, including transparency maps, can be exported. This means that mytextur can also be used to render more technical materials and systems cleanly and convincingly.

Plenty of improvements to make your day-to-day planning easier
Alongside the major new features, Update R4 also includes many improvements to existing functions. To give just a few examples, we would like to highlight the performance optimisation in Team Mode for working with large files, which makes collaboration on projects more stable and efficient. We have also expanded the IFC4 export of lintels for wall openings and wall slots, added selection options via free attributes in opening lists within the reports, and improved the performance of geometric calculations for proxy objects. Another performance boost has been implemented for copying walls even when updating is disabled.
The terrain module has also undergone several revisions and corrections in terms of depictions, terrain modifications and, for example, the evaluation of volume changes in the terrain report. In addition, the R4 update now enables video creation using the AV1 codec for computers with NVIDIA RTX 40 and AMD RX 70 or newer graphics cards, and we have also worked on overall system support, particularly for newer versions of Windows 11.
