Rebuild Madrid 2026 – Strong impetus for the future of BIM in Europe

Rebuild in Madrid has become one of the most important platforms for innovation in the construction industry in recent years. The focus is clearly on digitalization and new technologies surrounding BIM – topics that are currently gaining significant momentum in many European markets. For us, participation was therefore a conscious step to better understand local developments and to further develop the Spanish market in a targeted manner.

Why we were in Madrid
We participated in Rebuild because we are convinced that the Spanish market is increasingly seeking alternatives. Many architecture firms face the challenge of digitizing their processes while remaining flexible. Furthermore, dependence on large software providers is growing, particularly due to their clear focus on subscription-only models.

This development is leading to increasing dissatisfaction among both users and sales staff, as well as a growing interest in alternatives. This is precisely where ELITECAD consciously positions itself differently: as an independent, owner-managed BIM solution from Europe that operates without corporate politics and offers users greater freedom in usage and licensing. The fact that this market shift is real is clearly evident internationally.
ELITECAD auf der digitalBAU 2026: Planungsfreiheit als Schwerpunktthema
Key topics at the exhibition
A particularly strong theme in Spain is digital inventory management. Many projects are currently focused on recording existing buildings, often using laser scans. The challenge lies less in the data acquisition itself, but rather in the efficient processing of the data and its integration into the planning process.

Discussions highlighted the importance of seamless workflows that enable the direct transfer and further development of point clouds into a BIM model. The crucial role of seamless integration into the planning process is particularly evident in the area of digital inventory management. ELITECAD already offers powerful capabilities for efficiently processing point clouds and integrating them into the planning process without any additional system breaks.

Another focus was on automation and the increasing use of AI in everyday planning. This involved less visionary future scenarios and more concrete, practical questions: How can recurring tasks be reduced, how can planning quality be improved, and how can complex projects be implemented more efficiently?

Great response to our presentation on automation and AI
Our presentation, "How Automation Transforms Architectural BIM" at the Grupo Lobe Theatre, struck a chord and was very well received. It was particularly interesting how quickly the discussions shifted from traditional visualization topics to productive use cases.

The central question was how automation can truly relieve the burden on architects. Feedback showed a high demand for solutions that reduce repetitive tasks while simultaneously increasing the consistency and quality of projects. Automation is increasingly seen as a crucial factor in implementing projects economically and efficiently without restricting creative work.

A concrete example of this is our new AI assistant, Luna, which supports precisely these processes in everyday practice and integrates intelligent automation directly into ELITECAD.

Our conclusion: A market with great potential
Rebuild clearly confirmed for us that Spain is a highly interesting market for ELITECAD. The dynamism in the field of BIM and digitalization is clearly evident, and at the same time, there is growing interest in open and flexible solutions that adapt to existing workflows.

The trade fair was characterized by many high-quality discussions, both with architects and potential sales partners. The direct exchange on-site was particularly valuable, enabling a significantly better understanding of the market's requirements and expectations. With Spanish product documentation and a beta version of ELITECAD with a Spanish user interface, we are now ready to take the next step and actively develop the market.
Our on-demand webinar is now available as a compact product overview in German, English and, newly, also in Spanish, offering an easy introduction to the most important functions and working methods.
