ELITECAD Architecture 17 unveiled at live premiere
'Plan a sustainable future' – this was the guiding theme as we unveiled the latest version of our architectural planning software, ELITECAD Architecture 17, on November 18th. The invited industry experts were amazed by the wealth of innovations more than once throughout the evening in the Deep Space 8K at the Ars Electronica Center in Linz. Expectations were high, but it quickly became clear: ELITECAD Architecture 17 delivers a unique blend of sustainability and planning efficiency.

With ELITECAD Architecture 17, we’ve set an industry-wide milestone in combining cutting-edge technology with sustainable building design.
We even had to be picky with the innovations shown at the live premiere, as we could only showcase a fraction of them within the 90-minute show. However, our team made these innovations come to life through real-time planning sequences, two example models and real-world applications for everyday planning practice. These highlights included features designed to simplify, accelerate, and even completely revolutionize the planning process. True added value instead of vague visions – just what you’ve come to expect from ELITECAD.
Real added value instead of vague visions
Not only were the innovations of ELITECAD Architecture 17 meticulously thought out, but the premiere itself was crafted with care too. As seamlessly as planning pleasure and sustainable architecture intertwine thanks to ELITECAD Architecture 17, one highlight complemented the other in the presentation.
The evening kicked off with an enhanced point cloud processing, which has already impressed numerous users in the current ELITECAD version and now sets new standards in usability and performance again. Next came the upgraded terrain modeling, with detailed step-by-step change tracking, and a fully revamped drainage system planning, which drew enthusiastic applause.
The audience then awaited the central topic of the new version: sustainability. ELITECAD Architecture 17 impressed both users and cooperation partners with features such as the automatic integration of EPD information, the simple model and variant assessment with regard to CO₂ balances and the one-click creation of the building resource passport. Michael Brandl, our Chief Product Officer, summarised it best during his presentation: "Sustainability is not a trend. Sustainability is a responsibility we all share." ELITECAD Architecture 17 clearly demonstrates how seriously we take this responsibility.
Additional features, such as new visualisation tools with diagrams and flexible 3D text, enhanced VR options for modern model presentations, and practical QR codes on all kinds of plans, fueled the anticipation for the new version even further. But anyone familiar with our premieres already knew that there was a special highlight waiting at the end. The demonstration of the upcoming AI integration delighted everyone in the room without exception, serving as a spectacular finale. But we won’t spoil too much just yet ... feel free to expect more!
